Jewellery Care

Fine jewellery is made to be enjoyed, but it is delicate by nature and should not be treated as indestructible. A little care keeps it looking its best.

Everyday wear

Remove jewellery during sport, heavy lifting and other activities where it may be knocked, bent or caught. Take particular care with claws, settings and softer gemstones, especially in rings worn every day. Rings worn side by side can rub against one another over time.

Cleaning

Different stones and settings need different care. Some pieces clean easily with warm soapy water and a soft brush; others need more caution. Certain stones and settings are not suitable for ultrasonic cleaning, so please ask before assuming one method suits every piece.

Loose stones

If a stone appears to move, rattle or feel less secure than usual, have it checked by a jeweller as soon as possible. It may simply need the setting tightened, but it is best not to ignore it.

White gold

White gold's rhodium finish can wear over time. When a warmer tone begins to show, the piece can usually be re-rhodium plated.
