18ct Gold and Platinum
Every Eternal Verity piece is made in 18ct gold or Platinum 950. Both are beautiful precious metals, but they wear differently over time.
18ct gold
18ct gold is 75% pure gold, which is why it is hallmarked 750. It comes in yellow, white and rose. Gold is lighter and generally softer than platinum, so it may bend more easily in some designs.
White gold and rhodium
White gold is often finished with rhodium for a bright white colour. Over time that finish can wear and let a faint warmer tone show through; the piece can usually be re-rhodium plated to refresh it. How soon depends on how often it is worn.
Platinum 950
Platinum 950 is 95% platinum, hallmarked 950. It is heavier and feels denser than gold. Both metals can scratch, but platinum tends to hold up well to frequent wear, and it keeps its natural white colour without plating.
Hallmarking
Where UK law requires, our jewellery is hallmarked to confirm the metal standard: 750 for 18ct gold and 950 for platinum. A hallmark shows the metal has been independently tested.
